Who says Malaysia sucks?

Singapore, everything also increase now:
1. GST increase from 5% to 7% starting next month, July.
2. Starhub Cable (which is equivalent to Astro) increasing their subscription fees on 11th July 2007.
3. NETS transaction fee hike. 80% of Singapore residents use the bank-issued Nets-linked cards for their purchases. Nets, or the Network for Electronic Transfers, is owned by DBS, OCBC and UOB. In January, it had announced that the levy will go up by between 0.75 to 2 percentage points. Banks charge about two per cent for Visa transactions and around three per cent for American Express.
4. ERP rates also go up on May 2007.
5. Minister’s pay also up as much as 60%.
That is why Singapore is the 14th most expensive city to live in the world and in Asia Pacific, Singapore is the 5th most expensive city.
And today, just announced that withdrawal age for CPF (which is the equivalent of EPF in Malaysia) may be raised, at a time when money is most needed now because of all the above.
Damn, I’m sinking into chronic depression…
in singapore, unlike in Malaysia, you can’t stop your car at the side of the road and buy 3 goreng pisang for RM1…

Just stumbled on this post, and this blog! Having lived in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan, I don’t think there is that much to complain about for apart from #5. Astro’s services are so horrible that you can’t believe that you even pay for that stuff, with poor service and frequent breakdowns. The roads and road conditions are terrible, with crazy drivers in protons all over the place. Also, I doubt there is any place in the world where taxes and rates are going down.
For Singapore to be the 5th most expensive country to live in in Asia Pacific…uh, duh.

And all this increase? At least we can pay for them so don’t be jealous :)

Malaysia has third world mentality,
People who are so kepoh.. try to be concerned of others( pretentiously of course) why in fact they dont care
People are so narrow minded and try to rip-off everyone they think has money

singapore rocks more! so what if singapore is expensive, its small, but yet good. right. im not saying malaysia sucks, i like malaysia, but i love singapore more.
