Fay Must Read This

I am especially proud of myself today because I conquered my fear of heights.

My boyfriend’s colleagues organized a tree top rope climbing adventure at Bedok Reservoir and I got to join them. This morning’s weather was great btw, sunny and bright. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures to share with you because it’s not advisable to bring any gadgets with you during the entire event.

First, we needed to sign a disclaimer form, much like if we get injured or die, the organizer will not be responsible.

Next, we were briefed by the instructor and all I could do was couldn’t help but stare at his crotch area. I didn’t mean to be a pervert but… well… wearing those straps… it wasn’t really… pleasant to look at hahahaha!!! Then I started comparing… urm… balls sizes… Anyway, we put on our helmets, got a little bit of training on the grounds and we were good to go.

Looking from the ground to the platforms on trees high up seems like alahhh it’s nothing. But once I was up there, my legs couldn’t stop shaking. Actually, my whole body just froze. Cannot move, afraid to move. Felt dizzy, felt nauseated. Even with all the safety harness, I couldn’t help but to think of the worst. What if I fall down? Will people catch me? Will there be a thump sound? Will people scream? What if the wires broke? What if so many things….

YOU REALLY GET TO BE REALLY REALLY HIGH UP THERE OK!!!!

It’s just so funny how our mind works sometimes. And it’s just as important to know, that our minds really control our bodies. Once I’ve gotten used to the height and kept talking to myself, "aiyah nothing will happen wan, it’s so safe. aiyah nothing will happen wan, it’s so safe. aiyah nothing will happen wan, it’s so safe.", my body got used to the works and it wasn’t so scary anymore. Though, my hands were a little bit painful from all the rope clutching and holding and gear switching, it was nothing but fun.

There are 4 sites for you to go through, each site and each course has its own difficulties. Some were just walking on static planks from trees to trees, some where just climbing ladders. More difficult ones are walking on thin wires with ropes hanging above you for support and walking on swaying planks/ropes. The easiest one would be the what they call "zip lines", that’s when you fix yourself on the thin wires with a pulley attached to your hip strap and glide through the reservoir or from top of trees to ground, so there isn’t much walking to do. One particular course I could remember was the Tarzan swing where there was a slight moment of free fall, then you hit your body onto a net. Fucking exhilarating.

It was a really great mind and physical exercise, something different to do in Singapore lor. I greatly recommend it to everyone. And it’s not expensive at all, only $28 per person.

Halfway through the course I looked at my boyfriend and we both grinned in evil. We were thinking at the same time how we MUST MUST MUST organize this for our friends, especially for Fay just to prove her son will be gay and her daughter will be lesbian.

So, wanna go?

Been Busy

Hellooooooooo!!! emoticon

I’ve been busy, I know you’ve missed me. You come back here every so often to read about my updates. Tee hee hee.

Well, I’ve been busy. A lot has been going on recently. Unfortunately, not so good things, maybe. Purely the "work" part of my life, if you must know. I’m even talking in circles here. So stupid.

It’s 6:41pm, it’s Friday and I’m still at the office. The best thing about the moment now is I’m blogging from Google’s new Chrome browser. Thank God my blog layout still looks good here, unlike in IE. My blog layout also looks OK in Firefox. IE really sux.

I’ve got so much to write about. I want to write about Karen’s wedding and my experience of being a bridesmaid. I’ve got pictures to post.

I want to write about my work. I want to write about people. I want to write about office politics.

I want to write about Diablo II, the only thing that is keeping me sane now.

I want to write about world peace.

OK la, not that.

Sigh.

Alright, I’m going off now to get my Adidas shoe since I get 20% discount on its running products for the Standard Chartered Marathon end of this year.

More updates soon.

Why Don’t You Think Of A Title For This Post?

Books
I confess I haven’t been reading enough lately. Because I don’t seem to find the time to do so. Added to that, I am also very good at coming up with a lot of excuses not to find time to read. Bought a couple of books previously and haven’t even finished reading any of them. So what’s the best thing to do?

Buy more books.

Hahahaha.

You saw that one coming didn’t you? emoticon

I am currently reading Nicholas Sparks’ The Choice. I’m about to finish and already feel like crying, as usual. What I really can’t wait is to read Mister B. Gone by Clive Barker. Got it from Borders the other day. I will review this book another time, IF I can finish it. IF is a really BIG WORD here.

(While I googled for the book image, I stumbled upon Google’s Book Search webpage, check it out! Really cool! It’s like an online library google-fied!)

Career Advice for Nobody in Particular
If you think you’re a junior, then you will always be a junior.

Nike Human Race
I am so pissing mad that Nike closed the registration for the Human Race earlier than noticed. What is their problem? But I thought this is a race for charity or some sorts? Can there be too much charity? Bloody hell. This makes me so want to run for the Standard Chartered Marathon again.

Which I will. I will sign up this weekend. I’d probably run the 21km.

Spending Unnecessary Money
Guilty as charged.

SingFest
I really want to go to SingFest. I just want to see OneRepublic. I hope they’ll play all their songs in their album. I hope the concert won’t be full of posers. Cos I want to be one. Tee hee hee.

Nickelback
Nickelback ROCKS!!!!

Stupid Laptop
My stupid work laptop’s USB ports are all spoilt. It’s NOT working. Can’t use my mouse like I always did. Can’t plug in my speaks like I always did. Working takes twice as long because of this handicap. Tiuz. Heard that USB ports can’t be fixed. Shit.

Dobinmushi
I am so terribly in love with Dobinmushi. If you go to a Japanese restaurant, you gotta try Dobinmushi. The soup is out of this world. Best. I have it everytime I’m at Sakae or Ichiban Sushi. Lemon must be squeezed. Thank you.

Random Stuff Lah

Every night I look forward to do something really enjoyable after work. Like my violin classes every Monday night. Teacher said I have been making progress, eventhough I have only been practising once a week, which is like the last final minutes before my class starts haha. And teacher said I learn very fast.

I guess it proves to say that I’m really talented *smug*.

Hey just imagine, if I really practiced everyday, I can be the worldest classiest violinist. Currently, teacher has been giving me these retarded Chinese pop songs to play. No challenge at all. Maybe I shouldn’t study pop violin, I should go for classical violin course. Take exams. Get a cert and go teach. It is very hard to find violin teachers nowadays, I’m sure there is a demand for them.

My teacher inspires me too. I like watching him play the violin, and everytime he does it, I tell myself I want to be better than him. In some ways, I got hot-hot chicken shit also on violin playing. I took it up for the wrong reason. I took it up because I adored Wang Lee Hom, then, and he knew how to play the violin and the piano. So I wanted to be like him. But when I stopped adoring and started hating him, I was lost as to why should I even continue violin playing. Sure, I’ve bought the violin… sure I’ve signed up for a month course but I had no reason to continue.

And now, my teacher is my inspiration, and he taught me many many things about the violin which I didn’t know. I used to look at a violin as a violin, but now I look at it as a beautiful musical instrument.

That’s life isn’t it? Just when you thought that you know everything, along comes a person who will make you realize and show you that there is so much more beauty in this world that you wouldn’t have noticed in the first place.

Also, my teacher has a wicked sense of humour like he will say, "… look at this chord, this can end on 5th right…. or is it…. hmmmm….?" and trails off with a mysterious tone of voice.

Apart from teacher, listening to songs with violin or cello accompaniment, or violin solos, also motivates me to continue learning violin. Like songs by One Republic. They were made famous by Timbaland featuring them in the song Apologize. Even in the song Apologize, you can hear the intro by a cello and a bass violin. And the same can be said for all their songs in their album "Dreaming Out Loud". I love the album, all the tracks are very good. If they hold a concert in Singapore, I will definitely go.

I have been addicted to exercising as well. Scientifically, exercising makes you spurt more endorphins.  Emotionally, exercising makes you happy. Financially, exercising makes no difference. One visit to the gym was enough to set me fired up in wanting to sign a 3 years membership with California Fitness. Their nearest gym is just 1 MRT stop away from where I stay and there is also another outlet just walking distance from where I work. I had a one month trial membership so I am going to try until the trial expires then…. err… see how. A few thousand dollars for a bloody gym membership is unnecessary expenditure, really. I can bring that money home and let my parents shop till they drop. Buy whatever they want. Then seeing them happy is priceless.

Actually, local community centres here provide gym facilities too, at the cost of $2 per entry, no need to sign up any membership whatsoever. You get the same gym equipments as those private ones. Of course the slack part is you don’t have showers, saunas, personal trainer, lockers and towels la. But the equipments are as well maintained.

Last weekend, I was back at KL. My main intention was to be in the ‘zone’ of election campaigning. Turned out that my zone was pretty dead. All the exciting actions only took place at ‘hot’ areas like SS2 and Lembah Pantai. Even Puchong saw the visit of Anwar Ibrahim. So I painted my house in protest. Orange colour. My next door neighbour, who was an Indian, was fed up with the ruling coalition as well, especially Samy Vellu.

Even so, I could still see the ceramah like I am there, as they are many many video uploads of those ceramahs at Malaysiakini.tv or YouTube. I particularly like Haris Ibrahim’s speech at SS2 and one of his lines that struck me was,

My friends, Dr Chia mentioned just now, 50 acts to amend the constitution introducing 700 amendments… this is OUR document! They took an oath, every time an MP enters parliament he takes an oath of office. What does he say?

I swear to defend, uphold and preserve the constitution.

BN has been dismantling our document SYSTEMATICALLY, in the process taking away our rights, in the process taking away our constitutional institutions… we have been sitting back and allowing this to go on for too long, why?

Jangan…don’t get involveeeee…. (laughter from crowd)

ISA……

They, they hope we will continue to fear. And as long as we fear, they will rule the day.

and

Now, I think it was late last year November, Gerakan at assembly, suggested to Pak Lah, maybe it’s time for us to move away from race based politics.

What did he say?

"Nation not yet ready." (laughter from crowd)

He don’t want us ever to be ready…. alright? As long as they can continue to maintain their race based politics, they will continue to divide us… they will continue to divide the economic pie. UMNO will say, this bahagian we want to give to our people, you don’t ask how we divide, OSA.

(laughter from crowd)

And that is all I have to say.

Nothing funny happens to me anymore

…so that’s why my posts have been rather melancholic ok? Deal with it.

OKOK I’ll try to think about something funny.

Urm…

OK there was one time….

OK OK I got it.

I was in a conference recently in Bangkok, and I was sitting at the last row of tables but near the aisle la. So, during one of the tea break sessions, one of the participants walked past me and she farted.

*prot prot prottttt*

Then she sped off quickly and  n e v e r  c a m e  b a c k.

Too much tomyam?

I would have died of embarassment more than anything else. Actually it’s not nice to make fun of people who farts because it should be a natural thing like burping or scratching your crotch or digging in between your toes and smelling it.

Instead, I shall make fun of ugly people.

Do I think I’m ugly? No. I think I’m highly attractive because I’ve got a pretty face and a cute personality to go with. Although I am lacking in the department of breasts, I believe every man will be attracted to any kind of breasts when in the dark.

Shit, lost my train of thoughts.

Anyway, last Sunday I played badminton with my fellow groupies. I haven’t been playing since a long long time ago, which was several months ago actually. I used to play with co-workers once a week or every 2 weeks and I used to play every Monday after work with Jac, but I guess everyone’s busy lor, so nobody want to exercise or layan me anymore.

Oh no wait, I’ve replaced it with violin classes every Monday nights hahaha. Bloody hypocrite oh I am.

I have always always loved badminton more than any sport because it was my childhood expertise. I meant to say I was really good at badminton during my schooling days. I’ve got a gold medal for my house OK? I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned this in my blog but I’m damn proud of it. The medal is a gold shuttlecock. But you know, that was last time la.

The thing that I hate most after every game is the body ache all over. Warm up, cool down don’t work for shit. Why arh?

Then after last Sunday’s game I went for a full body massage.

Here’s the deal. I’ve signed up a 5 course package body massage since last year and never got the time and chance to use it. And since I thought I needed it, I called the beauty centre to fix for an appointment that evening.

Me: Hello? My package number is XXX. Can I come now for the body massage?

Beauty Centre: Oh sorry, no body massage masseuse today, would you like to try our lim-pa-tik massage?

Me: The what massage?

Beauty Centre: Lim-pa-tik.

Me: What?

Beauty Centre: Lim. Lim-pa-tik massage.

Me: What’s that?

Beauty Centre: It’s also full body massage but more painful.

Me: And why should I go for this instead of the body massage?

Beauty Centre: Because lim-pa-tik is better and can take out poison from your body.

Me: The what massage?

Beauty Centre: Lim-pa-tik, lim-pa-tik.

Me: Is it English or what?

Beauty Centre: No, Chinese masseuse.

Me: No, I meant the lim-pa-tik. How do you spell it?

Beauty Centre: L-y-m-p-h-a-t-i-c.

That is Singapore English for you, my friend.

Well, supposedly, this lymphatic massage can help increase your lymph flow in your body to remove poison, toxins and cellulite! Ajaib tapi benar. No harm, just try lor. Anyway already paid.

It was my first body massage in Singapore and I…. urm… had to…. strip…. naked. With just a disposable thong to wear. Of course during the massage I’d be covered in towels but they will remove the towels at some point to reveal half of my lower part of elastic birth canal that receives semen from penis. And the limpatik lymphatic masseuse massaged my round ass also. Kinky. The whole session lasted about 45 minutes.

It’s already Wednesday today and my body is still aching. Still got tons of cellulite.

OK sleepy now, later karaoke and tomorrow badminton again.

My life is the best, my ass is the roundest and I love Justin Timberlake.

I did it!

The Standard Chartered Marathon I told ya. I did it!

I finished 10km in 1:37 hours.

I am so proud of myself. emoticon

It wasn’t very bad actually. In the morning, I only had 2 Jacob’s biscuits and half a bottle of mineral water. But I managed to slide through it easily. The marathon was very well organized, there were more people than I ever imagined. A lot of foreigners too. Saw a kid running in Spiderman costume, good attention seeking man. Next time I want to dress as…..

wonderwoman

Wonder Womaaaaan. Dare me or not?

The entire marathon hor, I was listening to My Chemical Romance. That’s where I got the strength and courage to runnnnnn. Nice.

OK lah, nothing much to tell, just a normal simple marathon. Good work out. I didn’t carry my camera while running so I didn’t take any pictures. Except this last one of myself.

my marathon pic

Yayyyyyy!!! Got medal summore.

Some random updates

Ugh been quite busy lately and no time to update my blog. Also due to my injured middle finger, but it’s rather OK now, except that it is still freaking black in colour. Feels a little bit bruised too. So afraid that my nail will fall of. My sister said I have to punch a hole into my finger so that the blood can flow back.

Die la, how to do manicure like this??

Oh and I haven’t paid the clinic yet also, because they didn’t accept NETS and it has to be cash and I only left $10 in my purse (who carries cash around in Singapore anyways?) so the nurse said I can always pay them back another day, which is already 1 week now and now only I remember.

Long story to tell.

I had MC for 2 days right, so the last day of MC, at night I went to show my pal Natasha and her hubby the Night Safari of Singapore. Although I’ve been there more than 5 times in these last 2 years, I still feels it is THE place to go to if ever you’re coming to Singapore. Nothing else is ever exciting. While most people say the zoo is a lot better, but a zoo is a zoo is a zoo. How different can it get? Pink cages?

I also wanted to take advantage of the tourists-get-50%-discount promotion that Singapore is giving out now. But my kiasu-ism didn’t pay off because Night Safari not eligible. Cheh.

The only thing I dread about going to the Night Safari are noisy kids. I can’t stand them. So this time I was a bit smart, I chose not to sit at carriage with one big happy family with mini kids type. The first train ride was OK, but I knew that I would have more problems in my 2nd ride.

Foreigners that don’t speak English. Damn! They are more noisy… pilipalapilipala but lucky thing the guide this time around know how to ask them to keep quiet. Wasn’t so bad halfway through.

Anyway, I am glad that Natasha and hubby loved my recommendation.

They better lor, cos the next day I had to MC again. Fever. Bwahahahahahaha.

emoticon

Actually now also I’m feeling a little bit sickly. Having ulcer at my bottom lip for 1 week already. I brought 2 of my Singaporean colleagues for Hartz Chicken Buffet at Sunway Pyramid last weekend, so eating all that fried chicken also not helping…

On a better note, today was the 2nd day of my marathon and I managed to run 2KM non-stop. Not bad not bad. Extremely proud of myself.

emoticon

Can’t wait for this Friday, Lee Hom’s album is going to be in stores!

Gotta go sleep, will update more when got time… maybe this weekend.
